Performance fees (Retain & Recover)

How the 1% saved/recovered-revenue fee works: what's credited, the prepaid rule, your monthly cap, and disputing a credit.

Retain and Recover are WallaB.AI™'s performance-based pricing tiers. If your plan includes one, WallaB earns a small fee only when it actually saves or recovers revenue for you — never a fee on revenue you would have kept anyway. Your full, auditable statement lives on the Performance Fees page in the admin.

What's credited

The fee is 1% of the net revenue WallaB is responsible for:

  • Retain — 1% of saved revenue: cancellations rescued in the cancel-save flow, and cancelled subscribers who reactivated through a win-back touch.
  • Recover — 1% of recovered revenue: failed payments the dunning engine collected on its own.

"Net" means the line-item subtotal after all discounts — taxes, shipping, and tips are never included, and $0, free-trial, and gift-card orders never earn a fee. Every credited order traces to a specific save event, offer, and timestamp, all visible on the Performance Fees page. WallaB is conservative by default: when attribution is ambiguous, it does not take credit.

Prepaid subscriptions

A prepaid subscription is billed for its whole prepaid batch in a single order (see Plans & pricing). Because the fee is on revenue actually collected, that single in-window order credits the entire prepaid amount at once — not spread across the delivered cycles. Your monthly cap (below) bounds your exposure no matter how large a prepaid order is. This is intentional, and we call it out plainly so there are no surprises.

Your monthly cap

Each program carries its own monthly fee cap that you set on the Performance Fees page. Once your billed fees reach the cap in a billing period, any further fees that period are waived, not deferred — you are never charged above your cap, and the waived amount does not roll over. You can raise or lower your cap at any time and the change takes effect immediately.

Disputing a credit

If a credited order shouldn't count — for example, the customer actually came back through your own campaign — flag it from the Performance Fees statement. Flagging pauses that credit's fee while we review it (it is held pending review, not billed). A flag does not automatically reverse the fee, and it cannot reach back to change a fee from a billing period that has already closed.

Refunds

If you refund a credited order within 60 days, a proportional credit is applied against your future fees — so you never pay a fee on money you gave back. Credits are held and netted against upcoming fees, and a billing event is never negative.
